It’s constantly surprising to me, as someone who went through real sex ed and didn’t grow up with the internet, that those under 25 get the majority, or (post-Bush) sadly all, of their sexual education via pornography. This complicates this issue. While pornography should be escapist and idealized, until there’s a healthy number of adults frankly discussing sex and health to young people, porn should take advantage of (though not be held responsible for) its unique position as mass educator of sex to demonstrate the appropriateness of condom usage and make it as ubiquitous as the industry has managed to make the facial.
